Amnesia Adventure

   May 11, 2017

The Amnesia Fortnight this year had three community developed prototypes. I was super excited to be able to be the co-project leader on this one, with flesk and TimeGentlemen (of Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! fame), the latter of whom came up with the concept for the game.

This is a prototype for a point-and-click adventure game where an amnesiac adventurer travels through memories to try to find the object that was lost.

There was a lot of contributors for this one. The contributors (not counting myself) were: TimeGentleman, flesk, Cheeseness, jctwood, KGuNN, kednar, WavingPeople, Mythalore, etisdew, and kyle3wynn.

In the end, we have a short intro, a game hub room connecting all of the dream worlds, and four short dreams, which is connected to an outro. You can grab it from my itch.io page. It was a lot of fun to work on, and much thanks goes to all the contributors who made this game prototype a success.

OpenQuest Wintermute

   September 1, 2016

I've been learning the Wintermute engine, which I used to create my last few adventure games. I decided to learn more about the engine by converting the open source game, OpenQuest, to Wintermute. It has been added to the list of games. Source code is linked from there as well.

PAX East 2016

   August 21, 2016

I volunteered to work at Double Fine's booth this year at PAX East 2016. It was a fantastic experience, and I shared my thoughts with The International House of Mojo. You can read my article on the event here.

New Game: Dreamcat

   August 16, 2016

I just completed a new, small, one room adventure game called The Dreamcat Adventure. It is meant to serve as a template to make your own low resolution games using Wintermute. It has been added to the list of games. Source code is linked from there as well.

Games!

   August 5, 2016

For the past month, I've been working on some open source adventure games as part of a Game Jam that took place while the Double Fine Forums were down during an upgrade.

I've added these games to the site, along with the other games that I made during past game jams. You can click on the links to the left to play them. :)

A New Beginning

   January 1, 2016

I've been blogging about adventure games since 1996. I've beta tested for adventure game companies and created my own free adventure games for just as long. I always wanted to create adventure games using major adventure game engines. Now, on the 20th anniversary of the beginning of the journey, it seems like the perfect time to make it a reality.

I've decided to use my blog, The Adventuress, as a stepping stone for my venture, as it seems fitting for what I'm intending to do. I'll still be writing reviews and features on adventure games. However, the focus will now be on my games and animations. Hopefully you'll enjoy them as much as I'll enjoy making them.
